Embracing Nature –

The Benefits of Natural Burials

In today's fast-paced world, the concept of natural burials is gaining traction as people seek eco-friendly and meaningful ways to bid farewell to their loved ones. Embracing the tranquility of natural landscapes, this eco-conscious approach honors the circle of life. Sydney’s first natural burial field is a serene location with rolling lawns and tranquil lake views surrounded by native bushland.

The Environmental Impact of Natural Burials

A natural burial is in harmony with nature, so the body (or cremated remains) is prepared without chemical preservatives and uses materials from natural fibres and a biodegradable coffin to return to the earth organically.

The habitat will be kept as natural as possible, there are no formal headstones or monuments nor artificial wreathes or tributes. Although graves remain unmarked, each grave is mapped and surveyed using GPS technology to accurately record locations.

Departing from traditional burial practices, natural burials foster the conservation of natural areas, safeguarding the environment for future generations. By forgoing non-biodegradable materials typical of the traditional burial process, these burials minimize the impact on the earth, offering a serene return to nature.

Honouring Loved Ones & the Earth

With growing awareness about sustainability, more individuals are recognizing the benefits of natural burials. Preserving the intrinsic beauty of the surroundings, these final resting places provide solace to both the departed and their grieving families.

Embracing nature in this manner allows for a deeper connection to the environment and fosters a sense of harmony with the earth. As society’s outlook on funeral customs evolves, the timeless allure of natural burials resonates with those seeking a more unassuming and environmentally considerate departure.
